Young Author Anilah Porter Finds Her Voice Through
Wrapped N Courage
Words Are Rich Foundation celebrates a young author who is turning creativity, personal growth, and lived experience into a message of courage, confidence, and leadership for other youth.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — August 2026 — Leadership does not begin at a certain age. Sometimes, it begins when a young person discovers the courage to use her voice.
Anilah Porter, daughter of the founder and CEO of Words Are Rich Foundation, is beginning to establish a footprint of her own as a young author, public speaker, and emerging leader within her school and community.
Her book, Wrapped N Courage: A Story of Confidence, Courage, and Self-Worth, follows seventh grader Amiyah as she navigates the challenges of middle school—including head-wraps, rumors, friendship breakups, insecurities, and the pressure to fit in. Along the way, Amiyah begins to discover that her strength lies not in becoming like everyone else, but in having the confidence to stand out.
Written for young readers navigating adolescence, Wrapped N Courage explores themes of confidence, identity, courage, faith, friendship, self-worth, and finding strength through difficult moments.
The 112-page book is written in English and is listed for readers ages 11–17.
Beyond the Pages: Finding Her Voice Through Public Speaking
Anilah’s story extends beyond the pages of her book.
At a recent Words Are Rich Foundation back-to-school event, Anilah took the stage and spoke to young people about entering the new school year with confidence, facing challenges, and believing in themselves even when circumstances become difficult.
Drawing from challenges she has personally had to overcome, Anilah encouraged students to approach the upcoming school year with greater courage and confidence. Her message closely reflected many of the themes found throughout Wrapped N Courage—making her words more than something written on a page, but principles she is learning to apply in her own life.
Her willingness to stand before her peers and openly share a message rooted in her experiences represents an important part of her growth.
Anilah is not only writing about courage and self-worth—she is learning to live it, speak it, and share it with others.
Finding Her Own Footprint
As the daughter of the founder and CEO of Words Are Rich Foundation, Anilah has had the opportunity to witness community service and leadership firsthand. Now, she is beginning to establish an identity and footprint of her own.
Through authorship, public speaking, school, and community involvement, she is discovering how her experiences and creativity can be used to encourage other young people.
Rather than simply watching the work being done around her, Anilah is learning what it means to participate, communicate, create, serve, and lead by example.
Her journey also reinforces an important message for other youth: you do not have to wait until adulthood to discover your voice or begin making an impact.
A Story Young People Can See Themselves In
At the center of Wrapped N Courage is Amiyah, a seventh grader who thought she had middle school figured out—until seventh grade changed everything.
Between head-wraps, hallway drama, rumors, friendship breakups, and moments when she wants to hide, Amiyah has to determine whether difficult experiences will define her or whether she will learn to stand firmly in who she is.
Through prayer, journaling, mistakes, difficult moments, and the support of her closest friends, Amiyah begins finding her voice.
The story carries a message particularly relevant for young readers learning to navigate their own identities: standing out does not have to be something to fear. It can become part of their strength.
Leading by Example
For Words Are Rich Foundation, Anilah’s growing involvement in authorship, public speaking, and community service represents the kind of youth development the organization hopes to encourage.
Young people can be given opportunities not only to receive support, but also to discover what they have to contribute.
Whether standing on a stage encouraging other students, writing a story another young person may see themselves in, or becoming more involved in her school and community, Anilah is beginning to discover where her own gifts can make an impact.
Words Are Rich Foundation is proud to recognize Anilah not simply as the founder and CEO’s daughter, but as a young author and emerging leader finding her own voice, developing her confidence, and creating a footprint of her own.
And her journey is only beginning.
